TRP: how and why to get a badge

TRP standards; standards for performance

"Ready for Labor and Defense" is the name of the sports complex, which was created in the 30s of the last century and immediately fell in love with Soviet youth. The social movement experienced a real peak of popularity in the 50s, then on the chest of every fourth Soviet young man and girl the TRP sign flashed brightly. To achieve this success, it was necessary to pass the TRP standards, which were quite complex. The historical era has changed, and the social sports movement has remained in the past. And only many years later it was brought back to life again, it happened in 2013, and from the next year the system was tested in several regions at once.

Today almost anyone can become a member of the big sports movement. To do this, you need to pass the TRP standards, this can be done at different ages: from 6 years old to 70 and older. It is clear that each age group has its own tests, which are focused on the characteristics of the organism. They can be conditionally divided into three groups. The TRP standards in the table of standards show the tests that participants must pass.

In fact, the organizers have developed a whole complex in which there are steps, for schoolchildren there are five of them.

From the sixth stage, TRP standards for adults begin, which in turn are classified by gender - for men and women.

TRP program merits

Participation in the social sports movement is completely voluntary, but every year the number of its participants is growing. There are many reasons for this. For example, for many representatives of the new generation it is important to preserve the continuity of the generation, to become another member of the family dynasty with the golden sign of the TRP. Other participants want to prove to themselves and others that they are strong, courageous, agile. Still others dream of entering a prestigious institute, and the golden sign of the TRP gives additional points. Whatever the reasons for participating in a large sports project, the main thing is that the participant carefully weighs his sports capabilities. This will allow him to improve those skills that require standards. By the way, the TRP standards in the table of standards are presented in an accessible form. So, the TRP norms by age will show in an accessible form what children and adults can do to achieve success.

A table for men, for example, looks like this:

We tell you what the TRP standards are, how to pass them and what a beautiful badge gives

A little history of the TRP

Ready for work and defense! Most of the Soviet youth had a badge with this vigorous motto. The normative system of physical education of the TRP was in effect from 1931 to 1991 and helped to maintain interest in sports among the population, as well as to find future champions.

With the collapse of the USSR, the TRP complex also disappeared. But in 2014, the TRP decided to revive it - the President of the Russian Federation signed a corresponding decree. The idea is the same: to increase the level of physical activity of citizens and at the same time improve the health of the nation. At first, the TRP was introduced among schoolchildren. Now it is available to everyone, regardless of age. So, for several years in a row, the Autumn and Spring "Festival of the TRP" has been held in Moscow. Here you can pass the standards yourself and watch the performances of other athletes.

What is TRP

TRP standards are a set of tests for strength, speed, flexibility and endurance. Competitions are divided into several stages - depending on the age and gender of the participants. The tests differ significantly from each other, because depending on age, our abilities differ significantly. TRP can be taken from 6 years old and up to infinity: there is no upper limit.

There are 11 steps in total: 5 for schoolchildren and 6 for adults. The list of standards for each group can be found on the official TRP website.

List of main tests: • shuttle run 3 × 10 m; • run 30, 60, 100 m; • run 1000; 1500; 2000; 2500; 3000 m; • long jump from a standing position, triple long jump from a standing position and a long jump with a runway; • pull-ups on low (from the hang while lying down) and high (from hanging) crossbeams; • bending and extension of the arms in the lying position; • lifting torso from a supine position in 1 minute; • bending forward from a standing position on the floor or on a gymnastic bench; • throwing a sports equipment at the target and at a distance; • jerk of a kettlebell 16 kg; • swimming 10, 15, 25, 50 m; • cross-country skiing or cross-country cross-country 1, 2, 3, 5, 10 km; • shooting from an air rifle or electronic weapon from a sitting and standing position; • hiking.

If you successfully pass the tests, you will be awarded a TRP badge - gold, silver or bronze (by analogy with medals at competitions).

Those who have not passed the standards are awarded the distinctive sign "participant". They can also try their luck again: they can go to the competition again when they reach the next age group.

What the TRP Badge Does

Firstly, if you got involved in this adventure, then, most likely, you have already increased and expanded the level of physical fitness. Even if you are a runner, you will have to improve other sports skills (for example, throwing a ball or swimming) to pass the TRP.

In the post-war period, when the country was recovering from shocks, the TRP complex continued to be modernized in accordance with the tasks facing the physical culture movement of that time. The RLD complex, introduced in 1946, was characterized by a reduction in the number of standards (BSTO - up to 7, RLD stages I and II - up to 9), a relationship was established between these norms and programs of physical education of schools and educational institutions, age groups were clarified and changed.

When the country began to actively restore the economy, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union in December 1948 in its resolution put forward a new task for the country's physical culture organizations: the further development of the physical culture movement, the improvement of the skill level of athletes and their conquest of world championships , achieving records in major sports.

The party's decision caused an unprecedented rise in the work of the country's physical culture organizations. In factories and plants, mines and mines, on collective and state farms, in schools and other educational institutions, new physical culture groups were created, the existing classifications of Soviet athletes were organizationally strengthened. Exceptionally great importance was attached to the issues of further improvement of teaching and training methods in sports, all-round physical training, as the most important basis for health promotion, improving the quality of physical education of young people and the successful growth of sports skills to the level of high achievements.

Naturally, all this required further improvement of the TRP complex. In the TRP complex, introduced on January 1, 1955, the division of standards into mandatory and optional was again excluded. To get the badge of the BSTO stage, it was required to fulfill all 10 standards, the TRP badge of the 1st stage - 12 norms and the TRP badge of the 2nd stage - 11

In the 1955 complex, new age groups were established, as well as differentiated regulatory requirements for different ages of athletes.

By 1958, the number of athletes in our country reached 23 696 800 people. At the same time, during the period of the complex in 1955-1958. the annual training amounted to a little more than 3 million TRP badges of all levels, and over 4 years of this period, about 16 million TRP badges were prepared.

In 1959, the most significant changes were made to the TRP complex. The project of the complex was published in August 1958 for wide discussion and received general support. Requirements for the organic combination of physical education programs in schools and educational institutions have been introduced, as well as a system for scoring points for the results shown. The updated TRP Complex consisted of three stages. The BSTO stage is for schoolchildren 14-15 years old, the 1st stage TRP is for boys and girls 16-18 years old, the 2nd stage TRP is for young people 19 years old and older.

In the Armed Forces of the USSR in 1965, a special stage of the TRP complex was introduced - the "Military Sports Complex" (VSK).

In 1966, on the initiative of DOSAAF, a stage of the TRP complex for youth of draft age "Ready to defend the Motherland" (GZR) was developed and put into operation. It was designed for young men of pre-conscription age and included the fulfillment of a number of requirements for sports and technical sports and mastering one of the military-applied specialties (minder, driver, motorcyclist, radio operator).

These two special stages of the TRP complex were of great importance in improving the general and special physical training of youth of draft age and military personnel. Corresponding standards were developed in the field of civil defense of the USSR. The main task of the complexes for student youth, introduced in 1968, "Ready for the civil defense of the USSR" and "Be ready for the civil defense of the USSR" was universal compulsory training in methods of protection against nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction.

Over the years, a number of provisions and regulatory requirements of the TRP complex ceased to meet the new requirements and more complex tasks that were set in the field of physical education of the country's population. In this regard, it became necessary to improve the forms and methods of organizing physical culture movement.

The new TRP complex introduced in 1972 (approved by the decree of the Central Committee of the CPSU and the Council of Ministers of the USSR on January 17, 1972, No. 61) made it possible to improve mass physical culture and sports work in each team, in a sports club and in the country as a whole , to solve a number of important issues related to strengthening the health of Soviet citizens. The age range of the complex has expanded: steps have been added for schoolchildren 10-13 years old and workers 40-60 years old. Now the complex had V age levels and covered the population aged 10 to 60 years. Each stage of the TRP complex of 1972 consisted of two sections:

  • studying the main provisions of the Soviet system of physical education, mastering practical skills of personal and public hygiene, rules and techniques of protection against weapons of mass destruction, doing morning exercises;
  • exercises that determine the level of development of a person's physical qualities - strength, endurance, speed, agility, as well as exercises that contribute to the mastery of applied motor skills - running for speed and endurance, strength exercises, jumping, cross-country skiing, swimming and others.

Surely, you have heard more than once about the TRP - the All-Russian sports program, by participating in which everyone can find out how good their physical shape is. In addition, the highest award of this physical culture and sports complex - the golden TRP badge - can give the person who received it additional points when entering higher educational institutions.

“Ready for Labor and Defense” - this was the name of the program of youth physical education created back in 1931. The first letters of this motto made up the known abbreviation TRP. The program successfully existed for sixty years, but ceased to operate with the collapse of the Soviet Union - in 1991.

In 2014, at the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the program resumed its existence in an improved form. To establish the standards for obtaining various degrees of TRP, specialists from the medical and sports fields were involved. Now every citizen of the Russian Federation, at any age and social status, can pass these standards and, thus, check their physical fitness and endurance, and the most trained will be awarded the highest award - a gold TRP badge!

Badges and rungs: what does the future winner need to know about them?

There are three types of awards for those who decide to participate in this competition. The most important, undoubtedly, is the gold TRP badge, followed by the silver TRP badge, followed by the bronze TRP badge. The difference between awards is most often determined literally in seconds.

For the correct division of the load, all people who want to take part in passing the standards for the golden TRP badge are divided into eleven steps by age:
