Detailed program

Day

We arrive in Marrakech and settle in a riad - this is how they call houses in Morocco that used to belong to local wealthy people, and are now used as hotels. We leave for the fragrant Majorelle garden. For more than thirty years, its creator has been collecting plants from all over the world. The atmosphere of the garden struck the French fashion designer Yves-Saint Laurent, and he decided to buy it out, and in the owner's villa he set up a gallery of his works.

Heading to Bahia Palace. In the 19th century, the vizier of the Moroccan Sultan began to build it. The next owner of the palace completed the construction and brought the best craftsmen of his time from Fez to decorate the premises with stained glass windows, wood carvings and ceramic mosaics.

We will spend the evening in the main square of Jamaa-El-Fna. Its name translates as “the collection of the dead”, because only a couple of centuries ago, slaves were traded here and criminals were executed. Now, instead of slaves, they sell street food here, and the bloodiest spectacle will be cutting meat for the most popular local dish - tagine. Every day, as soon as the sun sets, a real circus performance unfolds next to the stalls of merchants: jugglers, musicians and snake trainers.

Day

Morning departure by rented comfortable transport in the direction of the largest hot desert on earth - the Sahara. On the way, we will visit the highest mountain pass of the northern part of the African continent, Tizi-N-Tishka, and look at the Atlas Mountains from a height of 2260 meters. Heading to Ait Ben Haddou, a picturesque ancient ksar (fortified city). After an hour's walk, we will move to the Valley of 1000 Kasbahs (fortresses). On the way, we will stop in the Rose Valley with endless plantations of Damask roses. We check into a riad in the Dades Valley.

Eastern fairy tale and European infrastructure, color and accessibility, mountains, snow, gardens and desert, ocean and ancient cities with labyrinths of streets and endless shops - all this is just a part of a huge country that we know thoroughly and show you like no one else!

Marrakech is the ideological and logical center of the country here we start all our tours. Not seeing Marrakesh means not understanding Morocco!

All tours are light - with a small backpack with personal belongings. All overnight stays in hotels, shelters or tents. The duration of the main part of the tour is 10 days.

Main part of the tour

First part: Marrakech - 2 days.

Ancient city. The heart and essence of Morocco. If you haven't seen Marrakech, you don't know what Morocco is! We will visit palaces and parks, gardens, of which there are many in Marrakech. It is one of the greenest cities in Morocco. We will also take a look at the historical part of the city - Medina. Moreover, we will live there and constantly plunge into the life of the malls and artisans, almost the same as it was five hundred years ago. We will see endless shops and workshops, cafes with local cuisine and, of course, the awake Djemaa el Fna Square. Two days is not enough, but we will have time to see the main thing and breathe in the very essence.

Part two: Castles and oases of the desert - 3 days.

A unique journey to the Sahara Desert: where we will visit the ancient Berber fortresses on the border of the desert, see the life of the Berbers and spend the night in a tent in the desert. We will drive through the mountains to the endless expanses of the Sahara. The program includes a visit to the city of the Ouarzazate fortress, located on the border of the mountains and the desert; and several film studios around it. Here we will see the fortress and several film studios, which are open-air cinema museums: we will walk at once in Rome and Egypt, and see how many famous films were filmed.

We will also visit the city of the fortress of Ait-Ben-Haddou - this is the largest fortress city on the eve of the desert. Further, our path lies through the Valley of Roses to the Valley of Thousand Kazb (castles) to the Merzouga dunes, through which camel caravans go to the black tents of the Berbers.

Part Three: Trekking in Paradise Valley.

Easy trekking in the Low Atlas mountains near the Atlantic coast. Trekking pearl - Paradise Valley. It is always warm here, fruits grow and birds sing. We sleep in a shelter, with water, electricity and a pool.

Part Four: Atlantic Coast

Morocco is a unique country where you can surf in the ocean, ski in the mountains and wander in the desert sands at the same time of the year. And also to arrange photo shoots on the streets of cities painted in an unreal blue color, try to find a common language with the Berbers and desperately bargain in the bazaar for an unusual chest or a pair of fancy shoes. A trip to this mysterious land cannot be called a budget trip, but it will more than pay off with the impressions received.

Fly to Morocco - about 7 hours on a direct flight. Hotels should be booked in advance - the best options are sorted out instantly.

When is the best time to go

For a bronze tan, you can come in early May and stay until the end of October: no rains are expected, the temperature will rise day by day and reach a peak in July-August: +28. +35 ° C. From the middle of summer and throughout September, people swim in Morocco: the water in the sea warms up to + 24 ° C, but the Atlantic Ocean remains cooler even in the hottest. April and October are ideal for excursions: dry, sunny, no precipitation (in contrast to November and March, which are considered the rainiest).

Skiers flood Morocco in January-February: there is fluffy snow in the Atlas Mountains, and the thermometer reads -3. +5 ° C. Surfers never transfer to local resorts: from May to September, beginners catch the wave, from October to April - professionals.

Beyond the sun and the sea

Beach holidays in Morocco are more about sunbathing than long swims. The lion's share of the country's beaches lie in the Atlantic Ocean, and its powerful waves and extended ebb tide negate all the pleasure of swimming. But the coating is entirely fine sand, and the entry into the water is shallow.

The quietest bay is in Oualidia: here it is not scary to let even little ones into the water. The most beautiful beach is Legzira near Sidi Ifni, its red arches can be seen in the photo of everyone who was in Morocco.

You can get your feet wet in the waters of the Mediterranean and Atlantic in Tangier. Diving - on the Mediterranean coast, for example in Saidiyah or Al Hoceim, but rocky coves are more common in this region. They go to the beaches of Agadir or Casablanca to hang out.

Most of the beaches in Morocco are municipal. Free admission, sun lounger and umbrella rental - from 30 MAD.
