In 1992, on the initiative of Alexander Sharapo [2], the Department of International Relations was created at the Faculty of History of the Belarusian State University, and the Department of International Law at the Faculty of Law.

On October 1, 1995, the Faculty of International Relations was formed on their basis. The first dean was Alexander Viktorovich Sharapo. On December 1 of the same year, the faculty created the departments of international economic relations, the English language (since 2001 it has been divided into two: humanitarian and economic specialties) and Romano-Germanic languages, on September 1, 1996, the department of oriental languages ​​and the department of diplomatic and consular service were added to them. ...

In October 1998, the Department of International Tourism was created, in August 2000, the Department of Customs and the Department of Private International and European Law, and since September the Department of Theory and Methods of Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language has been included in the faculty.

In 2004, during the reorganization of the International Humanitarian Institute of BSU, the Faculty of International Relations included the Departments of Social and Humanitarian Sciences, Cultural Studies and Modern Foreign Languages ​​(the faculty was part of the faculty until March 2009, when the first was disbanded, and the other two became part of the Faculty of Humanities) [3].

At the end of 2003, on the basis of the Department of Oriental Languages ​​of the Faculty, the Republican Center for Sinology "Hieroglyph" [3] was opened (since 2006, the Confucius Institute).

On September 1, 2008, Viktor Gennadievich Shadursky was appointed dean. In 2009, the Center for Korean Studies was opened at the faculty.

The first meeting of the selection committee at the country's leading university took place on Saturday. Thus, the results of admission to the faculties of international relations, radiophysics and computer technology, applied mathematics and computer science, philosophy and social sciences, military, as well as the Cyril and Methodius Institute of Theology were summed up.

Traditionally, high passing scores at BSU in 2019 were at the Faculty of International Relations (FIR). So, for "Lingvostranovedenie" it was 378 out of 400, for "Customs business" - 359.

To study in the "World Economy" required from 359 points, in "Management" (in the field of international tourism) - from 357. On the specialty "International Relations" the passing score was 379, and on "International Law" - 385.

According to the general competition for the Faculty of Radiophysics and Computer Technologies, the passing score was 294, compared to 2018 it has grown by almost 30 points. The maximum score was required for "Computer Security" (325). To study on "Applied Informatics" it was required from 320 points, on "Radiophysics" - from 301, on the specialty "Aerospace radio-electronic and information systems and technologies" - 306, and on "Physical electronics" - from 294.

The passing score at the FPMI in the general competition was 328 points. Maximum - on "Applied Informatics" (364). "Informatics" required 353, "Computer Security" - 338, "Actuarial Mathematics" - 330, "Applied Mathematics" and "Economic Cybernetics" - 328.

Philosophers, Theologians, Military

The Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences also had a high passing score.

So, for "Social Communications" in 2019, it was required from 344 points, for "Sociology" - from 320, and for "Philosophy" - from 328. To study at "Psychology" you need to score at least 337 points, on "Social work" - 289.

The passing score for "Theology" at the Cyril and Methodius Institute of Theology was 223 points. For comparison: last year it was noticeably lower - 163.
