What is water skiing? It is no coincidence that this popular attraction enjoys increased attention from travelers of all ages.
Water skiing for those who love extreme sports, water activities, dizzying fun and excellent experiences. There are plenty of places where you can go water skiing.
World famous resorts and private clubs invite fans of this activity.
The main thing is not to be afraid, because this kind of sport is available to a wide audience and is relatively safe even for pensioners and children over 12 years old.
Tourism is always great! Sports tourism is doubly great ...
Water skiing refers to the last point.
From dissatisfaction, from the need for thrills (they are actually necessary), for the release of adrenaline.
Having overcome the barrier, a person becomes stronger resolutely from all sides!
Everything in the world is moving towards perfection, reaching for it. New kinds of sports appear, often "exotic".
How would we live without water skiing?
Some are probably calm. But the history of the appearance of this "miracle" proves their necessity.
Water skiing was invented almost simultaneously (in the same decade) by three different people who were not even aware of each other's existence.
Special transport is an important part of this type of recreation. Different swimming aids are used for them:
Now they even produce special means for crossing. Such rafts are often used for entertainment, rafting, hunting. In addition to the usual boats or kayaks, introductory tourism has recently begun to use very unusual types of transport - inflatable skis. This exotic applies to water-skyshoes.
The categories of water tourism are constantly updated with new types. Rafting is now popular among active people. This category implies rafting on a special raft boat. The main features of this type of tourism are team play. On the river with dangerous rapids, not a single person is rafting. Several athletes are involved in this case, led by a slider giving orders.
Rafting has recently been recorded in the most extreme sports in our country. People were alarmed by the main dangers of water tourism:
Only true professionals with experience, knowledge and sufficient level of training preferred to engage in rafting. Now the popularity of rafting is growing among people who do not have special knowledge and skills. At the same time, the number of accidents in the field is increasing.
Therefore, professionals ask beginners not to neglect their consultations, as well as to pass the first rafting together with an instructor, choosing the safest and most difficult routes for this. Emotional preparation for the water trip also plays a huge role in the success of the rafting.
We found that 51% of our users do not send children to children's camp at all. The rest of the percentages were distributed among sanatoriums, educational and sports camps. Very few people - 4% - take their children to tourist camps, where they have to live in tents and arrange excursions into the forest and mountains.
We asked the famous traveler Dmitry Shparo, who runs the Big Adventure camp, to tell us why children's travel camps are clearly underestimated among us.
If an adult organization - be it businessmen, scientists, or anyone else - is made up of sane people, it should think about what it can do for the children.
When we started the Adventure Club thirty years ago, we decided that apart from super travel like skiing to the North Pole, we should do something with the kids. We have a head on our shoulders, we are professional travelers and must take care of passing on the idea of travel to children. Because for children, this is the right path of development - of personality, and camaraderie, and moral qualities. This is how the Big Adventure children's camps appeared.
For the first ten years of Big Adventure's existence, we took with us only children from 13 to 18 years old, but then we made two groups from 8 to 12 years old. In the base camp, they do not live in tents, but in houses, their hike lasts only three days.
We immediately realized that this is the most suitable age for children to be surprised, happy and become patriots of adventure. They are surprisingly inquisitive, they react to everything, give their soul to everything, everything draws them in. They are still ready to painlessly tear themselves away from the tablet or TV for the sake of something interesting in reality. They learn to perceive the world, love and protect nature, they have an ecological consciousness, they learn to be friends and help each other, which is extremely important. It is very difficult to come to this in a modern school.
My son Matvey is now the head of the State Center for Continuing Education "Travel Laboratory", and there are high-altitude simulators. The homeroom teacher leads a class that can't seem to pull together. They walk the route from A to B and become a team. Without exaggeration.
We try to have both healthy and disabled children in our teams. This is relevant for schools: now the guys study together, but this is just a formality. For them to feel on an equal footing, to help each other, it is necessary for the disabled to feel comfortable. And comfort will come from the right attitude, if no one attaches importance to disability. It’s as if she’s not there.

Outdoor activities have always been popular. And now, when for a huge number of people work is not associated with significant physical activity, it is especially important to keep yourself in good shape. That is why jogging, swimming pools and fitness centers are so popular. However, taking measures to preserve and maximally prolong the full working state of the body, we still willy-nilly turn this process into almost the same routine as work. And so I want to give the body a good shake-up, at least for a couple of weeks a year, to prove to myself and others that there is both strength and dexterity. And I just want to change the scenery. It is for these reasons that many people choose water tourism. More precisely, any of its varieties. And there are several of them, and each has its own characteristics, which must be known and taken into account.
This type of outdoor activity has many advantages. For people who are not indifferent to the state of the environment, such rest is valuable primarily for its practically zero trauma to nature. Traveling on water bodies, subject to the minimum environmental requirements, does not cause any damage to the environment.
Also, this type of travel combines both active rest as such, and familiarization with the beauties of nature, other attractions, the opportunity to express yourself, feel the effect of regular visits to the gym or pool, learn new skills, and raise self-esteem.
By and large, this type of outdoor activity is divided into two large segments, which include several subspecies. These are: rafting water tourism and yachting (sailing water tourism).
As for the general points, each of these varieties is not for everyone. Rafting tourism will appeal to strong and risky people who like to test their brave prowess (or to prove that the number of years lived is not a reason to write off "for scrap") and well tickle your nerves. Yachting requires much less effort and dexterity, but it also cannot be called an occupation for the lazy, since this type of travel on reservoirs requires both certain skills and serious preparation.
By the way, it is the urgent need to seriously prepare that unites both types of boating. As well as the need not to forget for a second that water does not forgive frivolity and does not at all accept the hope of "maybe".
Rafting tourism includes rafting and kayaking, canoeing, kayaking and catamarans. Rafting - rafting on rough waters (usually mountain rivers) on special inflatable boats - rafts. Depending on the type of raft, it needs two to six people to drive it. Therefore, this type of water tourism is exclusively collective. As well as sleeping on catamarans - double-hulled vessels operated by a crew of at least two people, the maximum (on the most common models) is eight.
Kayaks, canoes and kayaks can be single or double. These floating vessels are more maneuverable. However, it cannot be said that they are more difficult to control than rafts or catamarans. Management of floating craft of all types requires appropriate physical training, strong nerves, and certain skills.
