I did not think that the industrial giant would be able to impress with something, but the sights of the city of Novokuznetsk, which are directly drawn to take a photo, conquered me with their majesty and antiquity. Despite the fact that the nature in the suburbs had to undergo various changes, Novokuznetsk is not in the middle of the desert, but surrounded by birch and aspen forests, pine forests, meadows, swamps and poplars, which annually cover the city with white fluff.
Novokuznetsk has a very rich history dating back to the beginning of the 17th century. Ostafay Kharlamov came here from Tomsk together with a detachment of Cossacks to build a fort near the banks of the Tom River. The construction of this fort would provide a good result in resisting the aggressively-minded local population and fulfilling the tsar's decree on the collection of furs. This laid the foundation for the appearance of the predecessor of Novokuznetsk. Over time, the surrounding lands were developed, the prison expanded and Kuznetsk soon received the status of a city. And only thanks to the valuable materials found and the construction of a large metallurgical plant, Novokuznetsk began to sound throughout the country. I will try to acquaint you with the most outstanding places, monuments and museums of the city that are worth visiting.
