Justification of social significance consists in describing the problems of the target group that are planned to be solved within the framework of the project. If there are several target groups, it is necessary to describe the problems of each of them.
The problem is usually limited to beneficiaries and geographic areas. Therefore, in the wording and/or description of the problem, it is advisable to indicate the target audience and geographical coverage (see more about this in the following sections of the instructions).
The problem is a negative phenomenon. Therefore, the wording of the problem should include words such as "no", "absent", "insufficient", "low level", etc.
For example, it is incorrect to say that “we are dealing with the problem of popularizing the Russian language,” since the spread and promotion of the native language is not a problem. The problem may be: insufficiently developed single open Russian-language educational space; decline in the popularity and prestige of the Russian language and education in the Russian language in the world space; a decrease in the level of proficiency in Russian as the state language and a narrowing of the sphere of its functioning as a means of international communication; deterioration in the level of teaching Russian as a native, non-native and foreign language, etc.
Note the need for letters of support. One of the purposes of the letter is to confirm the social significance and relevance of the project.
Justification of the social significance of the project is included in several criteria for evaluating the project at once: "relevance and social significance of the project", "logical coherence and feasibility of the project" and "scale of project implementation".
Experts point out the most common mistakes in justifying social significance. The problem is formulated speculatively, nothing is confirmed. The problem has more to do with the organization than with the people
It is difficult to convey the feeling of slight nervousness that comes to you as an expert when you read general phrases from the category of "everything-about-everything." Worse than that, there can only be an attempt by the author of the project to seem overly smart and describe simple things in complex phrases using specific vocabulary.
Your personal opinion is great. But it can hardly be considered sufficient. Even if you are a recognized expert in the field in which you plan to implement the project, you still need to submit qualitative and quantitative analysis data with links. If you do not yet have a name in your chosen field, then a link to authoritative sources is an urgent need.
"The problem indicated is so obvious!" - you say. Maybe. But the task of an expert is not to seek justification within himself (his experience and beliefs). He must see that you clearly understand the essence of the issue and adequately perceive the situation.
How to understand that your project is important and needed by the community? Does he solve people's problems, does he help in difficult life issues? What is a socially significant project, and how to understand whether the project you are implementing is social or pseudo-social?
