India ranks amongst the topmost tourist destinations in the world.
Diverse culture, thousands of tourist attractions, excellent connectivity to every continent and well-developed tourism infrastructure attracts millions of domestic and foreign tourists to explore more about this country.
The number of foreign tourist arrivals to India during July 2017 to 788,000.
In 2016, India’s tourism industry directly contributed around US $ 71. billion to the country’s economy, and this figure was forecasted to rise to 148. billion by 2027.
The number of tourists domestic- or Indians who traveled within the country stands between five and seven million, though this figure cannot be verified due to several parameters involved.
History of India’s travel companies is rather interesting. The first major travel ‘arranger’ to open on the Indian subcontinent was British-owned Cox & Kings.
This company was started in 1758. Rapid colonization of the Indian subcontinent and the need for people to travel due to industrialization saw more companies enter this lucrative business.
Today, India is home to some of the largest travel companies of the world.

Russia lifts travel restrictions for citizens of Finland, Vietnam, India and Qatar. These countries could become major suppliers of tourists to Russia: there are already applications from Indian groups for the summer. Tour operators have assessed the prospects for restoring the inbound tourist flow to Russia.
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 136-r.
“Citizens of these states and those who have a residence permit there are allowed to enter Russia through air checkpoints. The Russians, in turn, can also fly to any of these countries, ”the government’s website said in a statement.
Let us remind you that Russia will open flights with India, Vietnam, Qatar and Finland from January 27, 2021. It is reported that flights are opened on a reciprocal basis, but it seems that this is not entirely true.
For example, India has closed flights to all countries at least until January 31, 2021. Finland is also not yet ready to allow guests from Russia for tourism purposes. According to the spokesman for the Interior Ministry Eriikki Koistinen, restrictions on entry from Russia will be in effect at least until February 25.
As for the entry of foreign citizens into Russia, the current decisions do not speak about the opening of an inbound tourist flow from India, Vietnam, Qatar and Finland, tour operators say.
“These countries themselves are now not particularly interested in outbound tourist traffic,” says Artur Muradyan, general director of the tour operator Space Travel.
It is also important that Russia has temporarily suspended the issuance of electronic visas, which was supposed to begin on January 1, 2021. Visas will not be issued until a special order from the government, according to the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Only certain categories of citizens will be able to use the renewed flights so far.

In principle, this is typical of all developing countries - do not expect luxury and chic from India, but otherwise, I guarantee, you will not be disappointed.
