Currently, the demand for services provided by tourism is so great that it leads to a dynamic increase in the number of jobs in the hospitality industry. Tourism is a rich source of foreign exchange earnings and expansion of international contacts, acting as a multiplier of socio-economic development.
The development of the tourism sector in the regions partially neutralizes such negative consequences of progress as the outflow of the population to large cities, the reduction of agricultural land under cultivation, and the destruction of the traditional way of life of the rural population. In addition, the growth of the hospitality industry contributes to the revival of cultural values, the protection and restoration of historical monuments, and an increase in demand for locally produced goods.
To increase the level of attendance in Russia, it is necessary to develop cultural and historical potential, recreational facilities, tourism infrastructure, and professional personnel. The listed factors are tourist resources, they are able to satisfy spiritual needs, contribute to the restoration and strengthening of the health of tourists.
Due to its geographic location, Russia cannot become a place for mass summer beach holidays and, in addition, there are many problems with the tourist infrastructure. Nevertheless, the country has what in the coming years will be in the greatest demand among travelers - unique historical and cultural attractions and natural values, extreme and unrepeatable originality.
The territory of Russia stretches from west to east for 10,000 km and almost 3,000 km from the northern arctic latitudes to the southern subtropical ones. The variety of landscapes allows for the development of many types of tourism. Russia has resorts on the Black and Baltic Seas, which makes it suitable for beach holidays, treatment and recovery. Full-flowing, wide and long rivers Volga, Yenisei, Lena are literally created for cruises, fishing, rafting, catamarans and boats. The seas of the northwest of the country are one of the cruise tourism destinations.
The forests of Central Russia, the foothills of the Caucasus, the taiga of Siberia and the Far East are full of animals and birds, which attracts fans of hunting tours. There are many places in Russia with untouched, wild nature, which creates ideal conditions for ecological tours.
