Soon Chun Hyang Clinic

Jaseng Center

In recent years, South Korea has become not only a center of civilized recreation for many Primorye, but also a mecca for medical tourism. The same Busan, long known among the sailors and businessmen of Primorye, turns out to combine not only commercial adventurism, but also resort chic and a high level of medical care.

Today, here, on the shores of the Korea Strait, between the Naktongan and Suyeonggan rivers, where the mountains serve as the natural boundaries of some urban areas of Busan, Primorye and all Far Easterners are waiting for treatment.

Medicine will save the world

Thanks to the Korean company "Goryeo", specializing in the development of medical tourism, we were able to visit many clinics in Busan. The purpose of our trip was to get to know the clinics and their capabilities, but I caught myself wanting to stay and do a couple of procedures in the cosmetology clinic, thoroughly check the eyesight in the ophthalmological center, understand the state of the bone skeleton ... Especially when I looked at the price list, it turned out - pocket.

Busan hospitals and clinics are rightfully considered one of the best in South Korea - they are at the level of high world standards. There is only one caveat: in Busan, treatment is sometimes several times cheaper than anywhere else in Korea. They say that Busan doctors are not yet so spoiled by the influx of Russian medical tourists, so they do not allow themselves to take money for baseless promises, as is often the case in Seoul clinics.

I would not in any way belittle the merits of domestic medicine. I would have erected a monument to many doctors during my lifetime. I can kneel down for the fact that today they are pulling thousands of people out of the other world for a meager salary, guided only by a sense of duty. Give life to many who are desperate. And if they shrug their shoulders, it is because the state does not pay the same attention to our medicine as it does to their colleagues in Korea. It is sad but true that the funds spent on the flight to Moscow, accommodation and treatment there, sometimes without a guarantee of the result, are practically equivalent to the cost of medical treatment in Busan.

I listened to a lot of stories of desperate Primorye residents who were offered to prepare for death in their homeland, and after staying in Busan clinics, where they received effective treatment (to be sure, metastases were removed), they had a question - was it worth it wasting time?

When it comes to oncology, they are one hundred percent right. As noted by Korean doctors, the bulk of Primorye residents staying in Busan for treatment are cancer patients, whom they gave up in Vladivostok. “Sometimes we are surprised,” says the head physician of a university hospital in Busan, “on the basis of what data on the state of human health a conclusion is made in Russia. Sometimes, fatal diagnoses are made without an elementary MRI scan and a complete diagnosis of the body. The patient, arriving to us, has already said goodbye to life, and during the examination, the suspicion of the presence of malignant tumors in Korea is not confirmed. We carry out diagnostics and refute such a diagnosis. Unfortunately, such cases are rare. The disease of the prevailing proportion of patients, on the contrary, is in a state of neglect ”.

According to Inna O., coordinator of KORYO JSC (by the way, a number of company employees are our compatriots), it happens that Russian patients have to translate not the most joyful forecasts of Korean doctors, but as a result of such meetings, the vast majority patients manage to help and cross out the death sentence. There is indeed hope in Korea.

Three words "no"

Trying to translate all the fullness of feelings into Russian, Korean doctors declare their mission and goals only as “the patient is a family member”: “There are three words“ no ”in our hospital: there is no language barrier, there are no inconveniences in inpatient treatment and rehabilitation, there are no difficulties in the course of diagnosis and in the treatment of the patient. " Isn't it true that we, Russians, have not spoken such kind words in polyclinics and hospitals for a long time? At best, “close the door. on the other hand".

The growing popularity of health tourism in Spain

There are 4 branches of Suncheon Hyang University Hospitals in South Korea. The most famous one is located in Bucheon city. His main philosophical idea lives within the walls of the institution to this day.
