An example of a business plan for a medical center

Today, paid medical services are chosen by more than half of Russians. Private clinics are in great demand and generate good income for their founders. We present to your attention a ready-made business plan for a medical center free of charge for a small town with a population of 130 thousand inhabitants.

How much money is needed to start

Cash investments in the organization and development of the medical center will amount to about $ 140,000.

Approximately 70% of the amount will be spent on the purchase of medical equipment for the clinic. The remaining 20% will go to renovation. And the remaining 10% will go to additional minor expenses.

In order to minimize all possible risks, it was decided to open a medical center for the best franchise. This will give special advantages at the initial stage of business development:

  • Legal, accounting and advertising support at absolutely all stages of the project.
  • Ready medical license.
  • Connecting the office cabinet to the main help desk.
  • Personnel training.
  • Regular trainings.
  • The initial contribution to the franchise is $ 10,000.

Documents to open

First of all, you need to choose the organizational structure of your business. Since the founder will be a legal entity, the form of organization of the medical center is drawn up as LLC. The necessary documents for opening a medical clinic are submitted to government agencies or to municipal public service centers (MFC). It will be obligatory to immediately open a personal bank account.

The founder of the medical center must be a legal entity

Dmitry Domarev, CEO and founder of DocLand, tells how the trend of treatment abroad is changing the medical market and why more and more aggregators are waiting for us, working on the well-known model of the Booking website for hotel booking. om.

Literally 5-10 years ago, there was a lot of talk about the globalization of the economy, since the process of active merging of economic systems of different countries was very active. Globalization is mentioned less and less now. Why is this connected - with the fact that all spheres of the economy are globalized or is it just that the question has ceased to interest specialists?

One of the key indicators of globalization is the number of tourists around the world. According to the International Tourism Organization (WTO), over the past 10 years, the number of tourists has grown by almost 2.5 times, already in 2014 it amounted to 1.2 billion people. At the same time, in recent years, the international tourism market has not been growing so actively, the growth is about 4-4.5% per year. By 2030, the UNWTO predicts that the total number of tourists will reach 1.8 billion. This means that in the near future, almost every fourth person in the world will travel.

The main changes have affected the structure of tourism: the share of business trips, travel for pleasure has decreased, while the share of specific travel has increased, including for the purpose of treatment.

If we study in more detail the VFR segment (travel to visit friends and/or relatives), health (treatment), religion (religious trips), we will see that the growth rate of medical tourism is several times higher than the average market growth tourism.

According to research by Deloitte Medical Tourism Censers Search Of Value, the number of "medical" tourists in 2013 reached 11 million. This indicator has tripled in just 4 years - according to official data. And according to unofficial ones - 6-8 times.

Of course, against the background of 1.4 billion tourists, 20-25 million medical "travelers" look almost negligible, but this figure is constantly growing.

According to FICCI-KPMG, in the next 5 years, the medical tourism market will grow by another 18-20%, significantly outstripping classical tourism in terms of growth.

What was the driver of active market growth?

Several factors can be distinguished among the reasons for the active growth of the medical tourism market. The main ones are:

  • Reducing healthcare spending in global GDP. By 2019, spending will be reduced by 10.1%: this is happening against the backdrop of a global recession and a massive reduction in government spending on free medicine in all countries (according to Deloitte), especially in developed ones. In the absence of insurance, many medical services become inaccessible to ordinary people - even in such developed countries as the USA and Great Britain.
  • Against the background of cutting medical costs, the global aging process is underway. By 2019, the proportion of people over the age of 60 will approach 10-14% of the total population. Now, according to the World Bank, this figure is 8%. At the same time, in countries with a high level of income, it is 2 times higher, that is, for the developed countries of Europe, Asia and the United States, this problem becomes extremely urgent.
  • Income growth. Residents of developed and developing countries with a high level of income can afford not only to travel, but also to be treated abroad, especially since in most cases it costs 3-4 times cheaper than at home, with the same or higher level of service.
  • Skill level and the possibility of an emergency solution to the problem. According to CNN, in one of the world's largest hospitals in Thailand, Bumrungrad, which receives more than 500,000 foreign tourists annually, most of the doctors have at least international certification, as well as diplomas from leading American and European medical universities. The situation is the same in other Asian countries: India, Singapore, South Korea and Malaysia. In most countries, the health care system is built according to the Western model. This is primarily reflected in the number of doctors who have international accreditation. In many clinics, the level of such medical personnel reaches 80-95%.
  • Low prices with a high level of service. Treatment abroad is not only effective medicine with the latest technologies and Western equipment, but also significant savings. So, for US residents, treatment abroad is often 5-10 times cheaper than at home. For example, a coronary artery bypass surgery in the United States costs an average of $ 113,000, and in Singapore it costs $ 20,000! The average cost of a dental implant in the UK is $ 1.6 thousand, and in Hungary (by the way, now this is one of the "world capitals of dentistry"), one implant will cost 2-2.5 times cheaper (see the table in comparison with the cost of treatment below ).
