Many people go to Lake Baikal to improve their health, breathe fresh air, plunge into the healing springs ... Why is rest on Lake Baikal useful and in which boarding house to stay - says otdihvrossii. u.

Important: Hot springs, curative mud and other methods of treatment have contraindications. Consult a physician prior to travel.

Why is it worth going to Lake Baikal for recovery?

It seems that nature itself has made sure that tourists return from Lake Baikal rested, full of strength and energy. Many factors contribute to this:

  • Clean air
  • Baikal water, unique in composition
  • Thermal mineral springs
  • Healing mud
  • Local climate

All this, coupled with spa treatment, can give excellent results. The main thing is a properly selected treatment or health improvement program. Let's talk about the most famous sanatoriums and boarding houses of Lake Baikal.

Sanatorium "Arshan"

This is perhaps the most famous and most visited resort in Eastern Siberia. It is located in Buryatia, at an altitude of 900 meters above sea level. The resort includes two sanatoriums: "Arshan" and "Sayany".

This area has a truly unique combination of natural healing factors - mountain climate, sulphide-silt mud, mineral-carbonic water "Arshan".

Diseases are treated at the resort:

  • Digestive organs
  • Metabolism
  • Blood circulation
  • Respiratory organs
  • Urinary system

The Sayany sanatorium has more comfortable living conditions - for example, each room has a bathroom, in general the building of the sanatorium is more modern. In "Arshan" bathrooms are located for several rooms. Both buildings offer opportunities for leisure and recreation.

Development of tourism on Lake Baikal

In the modern period, many countries have become characterized by the dynamic development of tourism as a branch of the economy. Tourism has become a mass movement for many people. This trend has not spared Russia either.

Activities for the development of tourism on Lake Baikal

The statement that tourism is a phenomenon of our time follows from the fact that it really has become:

- an active participant in social economic development;

- an element of the needs of a modern person and his family;

- the most common means of learning about other cultures, ethnic groups, establishing close contacts with people of different nationalities;

- a dynamic sector of the economy with a constant growth trend in terms of supply and demand;

- a source of conjuncture for many sectors of the economy of districts and localities;

a solid element of state policy and international cooperation.

Tourism on Lake Baikal is a very, very promising phenomenon. Many facts testify to this. If we talk about the international image, it is worth remembering that in 2010 the lake was included in the TOP-10 places recommended for visiting on planet Earth according to the Lonely Planets Publishing House, which publishes the world-famous travel guide of the same name, which is used by most tourists traveling around the world on their own. In addition to Baikal, Lonely's rating of the most attractive places in the world includes French Alsace, the island of Bali (Indonesia), the Fernando de Noronha archipelago (Brazil), the Ko Kong valley in Cambodia, the city of Oaxaca in Mexico, South Africa, a national park in Britain and South East Australia.

In recent years, attention to tourism on Lake Baikal has increased on a Russian scale. An increase in the arrival of tourists from abroad and a change in the structure of demand of Russian consumers prompted both state and commercial and private structures to take up this issue more seriously. It was encouraging for the region that in 2006 both Buryatia and Irkutsk Oblast were included in the seven regions where a special economic zone (SEZ) of a tourist and recreational type will be created. On the basis of a competition, this was determined by the Government of Russia. The Krasnodar, Altai and Stavropol Territories, the Altai Republic, and the Kaliningrad Region also became the winners of the competition. Their projects were recognized as the most interesting and conceptually developed, aimed at the integrated development of the tourist and recreational potential of certain areas of the Russian Federation. The analysis of the projects presented for the creation of tourist zones allows them to be somewhat specialized: mainly business tourism will develop in the Irkutsk region. At the Baikal Economic Forum in 2006, the leadership of the Baikal Visa Association even demonstrated a project to build a new city, Baikal City, on the Baikal coast. The latter was planned to be built on the territory from Listvyanka to Bolshiye Koty. In addition to hotels, the city should have a congress center, a business center, a shopping center, political residences for leaders of states, party and public figures. The idea was expressed that there should be a residence in Baikal City, where the President of Russia could receive the heads of government of the countries of the Asia-Pacific region. Listvyanka and its environs were to become Siberian "New Vasyuks".
