Drops of the past

Drops of the past

It has been known for a long time that the Ural Mountains are a kind of border dividing Europe and Asia. Several thousand rivers run down their slopes. They served as roads for people, fed with fish and meat, were places of worship for spirits and mining of ores and gold.

Rivers were saved and destroyed. More than one barge of Demidov's Ural factories crashed on the rocks along their shores. Thousands of destinies of gold mining in these places have been mutilated.

Rivers have delighted and continue to delight thousands of tourists from all over the country with their unprecedented natural beauty, their cool temper.

Rivers of the Urals

There are many rivers in the Urals suitable for rafting. The largest of them are: Ural, Chusovaya, Pechora, Vishera and many others. Such as Belaya, Yuryuzan, Inzer, Zilim, Ai, flow through the territory of Bashkiria. They have long been settled by water tourists. In spring, they turn into noisy and full-flowing ones. And then only the most desperate daredevils manage to go down them without "swimming" in rough waters.

Rafting on the rivers of Bashkiria has long attracted gamblers, gives an excellent opportunity to relax to the fullest and at the same time test yourself for endurance. Local beauties are a great bonus.

Auspicious time for tourist water trips

Important! For such a specific type of tourism, the season plays an important role.

Starting from April, when the ice drift begins, and until late autumn, with persistent cold weather, you can raft down the river.

  • Spring. This is the period of "big water". It is this time that is characterized by the maximum flow rate of rivers, and therefore it is especially interesting here. For beginners, this experience is quite difficult, but not impossible. Many people want to experience a fascinating and dangerous adventure - passing wayward rapids.
  • Summer. Comfortable time. Even for those who have no experience in water tourism, this is a safe and fun journey through calm calm waters. You can take your children with you. You can fish (there are plenty of fish), swim, sunbathe in the reaches, pick mushrooms and berries in the forest zone. All these additional features make the trip a pleasure.
  • Autumn. Rafting at this time is interesting mainly for experienced tourists.

We will talk about river rafting in 2018.

In recent years, the government has repeatedly announced plans to revive and develop river transport on the main river of Bashkiria. Meanwhile, after the ceremonial launch of river walks at the end of June, no visible progress has been observed in the development of passenger traffic. You rarely see on Belaya and cargo ships, once around the clock plowing the vastness of the river.

Where will the Seagull fly?

River walks in Ufa started on June 27: this is how the young volunteers who helped citizens during the period of severe restrictions were awarded. For this purpose, the ship "Chaika", which had been in the dock for several years, was repaired and it was designed for 54 passengers. Since July 4, the ship "Mirage", which previously belonged to the Bashkir River Shipping Company, and two years ago was bought by the "Rechflot" company, began to cruise around Ufa. It was announced that there will be seven pleasure trips a day from the Congress Hall to the Kuznetsovsky Zaton. The Bashkir River Shipping Company, which went bankrupt, does not have its own passenger ships. The River Ferry Service also reported that there are no ships at their disposal, and all the work is reduced to transporting gardeners through Ufimka.

Meanwhile, a new passenger pier has been built on the embankment near the Friendship Monument. There was even a schedule of cruises for 2020, but there were no cruises themselves this season. Last year, there were three flights, a ticket for a week cost from 46 to 76 thousand rubles.

“There is a prospect of passenger river transportation, it is always in demand and has not gone anywhere,” says fleet veteran Yevgeny Titov. - As world practice and Soviet experience show, this niche will be occupied by private river carriers with their own and leased vessels. For the state, passenger shipping is unprofitable. "

Not enough depth

According to the State Transport Committee, 37 vessels of various classes are under the jurisdiction of the republic. The annual volume of transported goods is about 1 million tons, which is only 1.5% of the republican cargo turnover.

Experts call the shallowing and overgrowing of the Belaya channel one of the reasons for the curtailment of river transport. Let us remind you that three years ago Rosmorrechflot decided to gradually increase the guaranteed depth of the main waterway of Bashkiria. The Belsky region of waterways and shipping in the navigation of 2020 planned to maintain the depth of Belaya at at least 2 meters. Studies have shown that it is possible to increase the guaranteed depth of the fairway up to 2.2 m. The work is planned to be carried out in stages over five years until 2025.

Already during the current navigation it is planned to transport up to 1 million tons of Bashkir oil products, about 100 tankers and barges will be involved.

In the summer of 2020, work continued on dredging the Belaya and restoring navigation on the Ufa River.

Agidel, Chusovaya, Yuryuzan, Ufa, Ai, Zalim, Berezyak, Bolshoi Nugush, Lemeza, Bolshoy Inzer ... there are countless rivers flowing through the territory of Bashkortostan. Many of them are popular with rafting enthusiasts. Rafting on the rivers of Bashkiria is available not only for professionals. Beginning lovers of this water entertainment will also find their river.

Yuryuzan is popular with those who are just starting rafting. Rafting is available here even for vacationers who decide to raft with children. The source of this river is from the northern side of the Yamantau mountain range, which is located in the South Urals. There are no dangerous rapids here. Basically, there is the first, second category. They diversify the alloy, but at the same time do not create situations hazardous to health. The river bed runs along picturesque rocks dotted with grottoes and caves.

The Ai River also has only small rifts, so different categories of tourists can be rafted along it. There is no big danger, and the thrill is guaranteed.
