Overcoming the crisis situation, the subsequent sustainable development of the tourism industry requires additional investment and innovation. One of the tools to attract them is public-private partnership (PPP) and municipal-private partnership (MPP). The specifics of the tourism industry, the specifics of the formation of demand in the context of constant changes determine the need for further study of the mechanism for implementing PPP/MPP projects in this sector of the economy. The essence, prerequisites for initiation, organizational forms, advantages and disadvantages of PPP/MPP projects are considered. The practice of implementing PPP/MPP projects in the tourism industry in the modern Russian economy has been analyzed. It is concluded that their effectiveness mainly depends on the optimal use of resources, an effective risk management system, trust relations between public and private partners, healthy competition among stakeholders, and an effective legal framework.
