The riches of the Russian North - unique objects and untouched nature

MURMANSK, December 25 - RIA Novosti, Anastasia Yakonyuk. The northern territories of Russia are ready to attract travelers from all over the world with unique tourist routes and the beauty of untouched nature, cultural, historical and sports facilities that are worthy of making up the wealth of the North of Russia, according to the authorities of the Murmansk and Arkhangelsk regions.

Russian President Vladimir Putin at the State Council for Culture and Arts on Wednesday expressed the opinion that there can be much more complex tourist routes in Russia following the example of the Golden Ring: they can be located in the north, in Siberia, in the Far East, Caucasus. According to Putin, it would be useful for each of the regions to compose a kind of cultural package, including tourist routes.

Combining history and culture

The Russian North is itself an attractive tourist product, shrouded in an aura of mystery, thrilling with its blizzards and blizzards, beckoning with the northern lights, sparkling snow and the setting midnight sun. What is common and customary for residents of the northern regions, competent tour operators can wrap it in a bright wrapper and present it beautifully. At least, this is what the neighbors of Murmansk and Arkhangelsk residents in the Barents Region do - the Norwegians, who very successfully trade in the northern lights in winter, hunting them down and creating an expensive tourist product out of the usual atmospheric phenomenon.

"We have villages that can be called a cultural heritage not only of the Arkhangelsk region, but of the whole country," said the governor of the Arkhangelsk region Igor Orlov in an interview with RIA Novosti. As an example, he cited living witnesses of history - this is the Pinega Verkola, the birthplace of the famous writer Fyodor Abramov, the ancient Russian village of Sura, where St. John of Kronstadt was born, the old Pomor village of Lopshenga.

"The list of cultural heritage of the region includes the Kenozero village of Vershinino, in which Andrei Konchalovsky's film" White Nights of the Postman Tryapitsyn "was filmed, as well as the village of Norinskaya, where today we are creating a museum of the link of the poet Joseph Brodsky," added the head area.

According to Orlov, the region's "cultural package" will include the Solovki, which have become part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the bell-shaped Kargopol, the fiefdom of the Stroganov merchants, Solvychegodsk.

The Governor also noted the importance of the development of industrial tourism, he believes that the Plesetsk cosmodrome and the shipbuilding enterprises of Severodvinsk must also be shown, including to children.

Tourist and recreational clusters will help to combine the history and culture of Pomorie into a single cognitive space: four investment projects to create clusters are supported at the federal level. The total amount of funds that is planned to be directed to these projects from 2015 to 2018 is nine billion rubles.

Alpine skiing, Arctic cruises and fishing

The Murmansk region, perhaps, cannot boast of such an abundance of cultural and historical sites as their neighbors in the Arkhangelsk region, however, according to local authorities, nature itself gives Murmansk residents the opportunity to make money from air, water and snow. However, in order to use this potential to the maximum, rather big investments are still needed.

Today, travel agencies of the Murmansk region offer about 80 tours in different directions. Active types of recreation and recreational fishing remain the basic offers. Fans of extreme sports are attracted by the beauty and ski slopes of the Khibiny Mountains. In this area, on the basis of a public-private partnership, a project for the construction of an eight-seat high-speed gondola-chair road is being implemented.

"The creation of a modern ski lift on the northern slope of Mount Aikuayvenchorr has provided a new high-quality level of tourist services in Kirovsk and will attract even more skiers to the Khibiny slopes, which, of course, will have a positive effect on the municipality and the region as a whole." , - said the head of the region Marina Kovtun.
