Every person knows the world from the moment of his birth. And the more he learns the world around him, the stronger his desire to discover the unexplored secrets of nature. Even as kids, we carefully examine various insects, blades of grass, flowers. Later, for someone this hobby develops into a profession, someone, just traveling with backpacks, admires nature, finding beauty and charm in it, and someone simply resting, harms the environment, leaving behind various garbage, damaged bushes and trees. And how can one fail to recall the words of the German philosopher, humanist of the 20th century Albert Schweitzer: “A truly moral person is only when he obeys the inner urge to help any life he can help, and refrains from causing any harm to the living. He does not ask how much this or that life deserves his efforts, he does not ask whether she can feel his kindness and to what extent. For him, life, as such, is sacred. He will not pluck a leaf from a tree, he will not break a single flower, and he will not crush a single insect. " The urgency of the problem we are raising lies in the fact that ecological upbringing and education of children is an important problem of the present time. The leading role in its solution should be played by organizations of additional education for children, since they have the widest opportunities for an innovative approach to environmental education and upbringing of children and adolescents. The teachers of additional education are faced with the task of organizing the process of cognition of the surrounding world and the establishment of humanistic relationships with the surrounding natural and social world. And this task can be solved in the process of organizing tourism and environmental activities, which contains a huge potential for the formation of environmental culture in the younger generation.
The purpose of this work is to reveal various approaches to environmental education and upbringing of children and adolescents through youth tourism.
Consider the following concepts:
Tourism is a journey (trip, hike) in free time, one of the types of outdoor activities.
Children and youth tourism is an independent and socially oriented sphere, an effective means of spiritual and physical development of a person, fostering respect for nature, mutual respect and understanding between peoples.
Children's and youth tourism is a means of harmonious development of children (persons under the age of 14), girls and boys (persons under the age of 18), implemented in the form of recreation and socially useful activities, characteristic the structural components of which are a hike, travel, excursion. Environmental education and upbringing is a pedagogical process that ultimately must provide an understanding of the importance of correct behavior in the natural environment, the ability to foresee and evaluate the consequences of one's activities, and the awareness that a person is a part of nature.
A great advantage of tourism and environmental work over other types of activity is the provision of opportunities for active, emotionally active cognition of the world around us and the real position of a person in the surrounding reality. 16 years of experience in the field of tourism has shown that various forms and means are effective methods in the formation of the moral qualities of the personality of adolescents. During the hikes, a respectful attitude towards nature, independence, the ability to come to the aid of people, to organize leisure develops. The guys feel like adults, responsible for the safe being in nature not only for themselves, but also for other people. Tourist-ecological activity has an integrative character, because the educational, social, natural, creative-transforming functions of the moral formation of the personality of adolescents are realized in their totality.
