Ecological routes of Primorye: uninhabited islands, stone bowls and ancient caves

Primorsky Krai is considered a natural pearl of the Far East for a reason. Therefore, ecological tourism is especially popular in the region. The untouched nature of protected areas, the mysteries of ancient caves, the grandeur of mountain waterfalls, stone bowls of lagoon lakes, the beauty of the underwater world, sea coasts and high mountains with interesting rock complexes and amazing history attract tourists from all over the world. To maintain a balance between nature and humans and preserve the uniqueness of the coastal flora and fauna, ecologists are developing whole nature conservation programs: for those wishing to visit the protected islands, sea traffic has been established that does not harm the protected area, eco-trails are built and eco-routes are laid in reserves and national natural parks. For visiting some objects, a limited access regime has been introduced at all - during the season, a certain number of tourists can visit the protected area. What is definitely worth seeing in the Primorsky Territory and how to do it - in the review of IA PrimaMedia, dedicated to the World Environment Day.

Background: World Environment Day is celebrated annually on 5 June. It was established by the UN General Assembly in 1972. The choice of the date is justified by the fact that on this day the UN Conference on Environmental Problems opened. On June 5, Russia also celebrates the professional holiday of the Day of the Ecologist.

Nature reserves and national parks of Primorye

The Far Eastern Marine Biosphere Reserve, the most "thematic" for our region, includes the richest in species diversity water area among all the seas of Russia. The waters and the bottom of the reserve are inhabited by more than two thousand species of animals, plants and fish.

The adjacent coastal areas are no less interesting. For example, in the Telyakovsky Bay, located in the very south of Primorye, a tourist seems to find himself in a fairy tale. The steep rocky coast is dotted with the rarest century-old burial pines. Their mighty roots hang over the abyss and go straight into the rocks. The sea water in the bay is very clear, deep green. Reefs and kekurs are everywhere, home to hundreds of marine life. However, swim with caution. In recent years, sharks have entered the bay.

Literally twenty meters from the shore of the Telyakovsky Bay, there is a beautiful uninhabited island with a poetic name - the Island of the Tormented Heart. In summer, you can go there from the bay, or get there by sea. The island is famous for the fact that it contains a natural sea bath with a heart-shaped stone boulder, which makes sounds like a heartbeat during waves or storms. There is also a small seal rookery on the island.

How to get there: take the Vladivostok-Khasan highway to the turn to Andreevka. Then either by water transport from Andreevka, or on foot or by car, drive up through Vityaz Bay.

The reserved lands of Primorye are attractive no less than marine areas. It is very interesting to visit one of the oldest reserves in the region - "Kedrovaya Pad". In modern times, it is the Land of the Leopard National Park. It is here, in the area of the Narva Pass, that the only ecological tunnel in the seaside, 575 meters long, is located. It was built in 2016 so that the forest inhabitants of these places could freely move through the hills bypassing the motorway. In the vicinity of Narva Pass, up to 10 individuals of the Far Eastern leopard live, most of which are cats bringing kittens. Thanks to the new construction, the path of motorists and the paths of leopards no longer intersect. In terms of species diversity, the reserve has no equal in the entire Far East. Here you can meet not only rare animals and see unique plants, but also observe a wide variety of different types of insects. Also in the reserve flows a clean, transparent river Kedrovaya, rich in an abundance of various fish. Also "Kedrovaya Pad" is the natural habitat of the Far Eastern leopard.

How to get there: by car, go along the Vladivostok-Khasan highway. After the village of Barabash, drive straight a little.
